June 4, 2018Canada Day in Blue River

Canada Day…
Blue River Style!

Canada Day has a special place in Blue River ‘s Community life. It starts off with a parade at 11 am. Led by the Blue River Volunteer Fire Department, a diverse collection of floats from local businesses and kids of all ages on decorated bikes, wind their way through town, ending up at Eleanor Lake Beach. There, the afternoon kicks off with singing O’Canada, and munching on birthday cupcakes…Games and activities for all ages fill the day with a lot fun… sand castle building, water melon eating, races, bocci ball, volleyball, and balloon toss are only a few of the options available…The Beach house concession is open, serving burgers, hot dogs, and fries, as well as soft drinks and coffee. The official part of the day ends around 5:30, but we encourage people to bring a picnic and stay awhile to enjoy the beautiful dusk at our very special Eleanor Lake.
